Consultant – Space Coast Technology Firm - Implementing a state of the art PCM Telemetry device in a Linux operating environment.

 

Consultant – Tele Pro Systems - NASA R&D Small Aircraft Transportation System (SATS.) I act as a primary software developer and systems engineer for Southeast SATS lab. The R&D project requires our team to initiate and implement ideas and concepts to improve safety and increase access to community airports. Technical aspects include Air-Air and Air-Ground TCP/IP communications and GPS tracking. Aircraft identification, aircraft following for cockpit display, situational awareness, pilot advisory and ground based presentation. This role is hands on, design, code, and test. (Completed project July 2005)

 

5/2001 – 10/2003        Telephonics Wireless (Start Up)            Melbourne, Florida

Staff Engineer - We designed and implemented a wireless telecom infrastructure product. This product overlaid the present Global Switching Mobile (GSM) Base station cellular architecture. It provided additional capabilities while being non intrusive to the deployed network. I assisted in determining feature functionality, organizational processes and procedures. I mentored Jr. Developers. This role was hands on, design, code, test.

 

6/1995 - 5/2001           AirNet Communications (Start Up)                   Melbourne, Florida

Software Engineering Management - Lead implementation of GSM General Packet Radio Services (GPRS, cellular internet). I consulted marketing and senior management in creating objectives and development plans to meet time to market objectives. Developed and executed detail schedules with overlapping stages of requirements, design, code, unit test, integration, and verification.

 

Software team lead - A dotted line management-technical role leading engineering teams, participating in embedded design of cellular Call Processing, API, Configuration Management, Integration, and Sustaining organizations.

 

1/1979 - 6/1995           Siemens Stromberg-Carlson                 Lake Mary, Florida

Senior Member of the Technical Staff - Created a propriety Real Time Operating System (RTOS.) This RTOS executed on multiple HW platforms and differing target processors. Developed and designed HDLC, DS0, and T1/E1 device drivers, specified by Bellcore, ANSI, and CCITT publications.

 

Software team lead - Developed a proprietary, multi-tasking operating system for a remote maintenance center. This system monitors digital telephone exchanges and alarm periphery. This Central Maintenance Administration and Control system (CMAC) provides craft with the knowledge of situations and accessibility to the equipment for remote maintenance.

 

Customer Service Supervisor - Provide technical leadership and managerial decisions assisting field personnel and customer support needs for digital telephony equipment.

I have trained over 100 adult onset athletes to complete major marathons (26.2 miles.) While the participants train, they also raise money dedicated to supporting research to end blood cancers.
